Canadian poker player “Yukon” Brad Booth made a teary eyed plea to the online poker world after a thread was made in the 2+2 forums which claimed that he stole money. Brad confirms the rumours that he is broke and pledges to pay back the money he “owes” by playing in the WSOP. See video after the jump.
In the video, Brad Booth claims that he is currently broke and in debt, and has been in financial trouble for the past few years. This comes as a surprise to many because he has been a regular on poker TV shows like “High Stakes Poker” and was thought to be a poker pro who was doing well for himself.
This news come as a chilling reminder that the life of a poker player is not always the glitz and glamour that is portrayed on the TV screen. It shows that even the most skilled players in the game are susceptible to compulsive behaviour and can lose everything in the blink of an eye. It is believed that Brad Booth has lost upwards of $5 Million gambling since 2008.
A native of Vancouver, BC, Brad Booth pledges to rebuild his life the only way he knows how, and we wish the best for him and hope that he gets back on his feet.
